ROUTE 66 DREAM MACHINE
Running down the road through Winslow, Arizona, I try to catch the spirit of the 1930s, when Route 66 was the Mother Road, as well as the 1970s, when the Eagles of my youth sang powerfully about Taking it Easy. I never tire of traveling this lonely road, filled with Germans and French and Americans who follow the romance of the past.
While walking around Winslow I came upon this classic Airstream trailer that, to me, is an icon of the open road. Its silver mirror reflects the vast sky of the Arizona desert.
