WINTER LIGHT ON AN AMISH BARN
I love photographing architecture, and especially the simple architecture of barns and old houses. The lines of this recently-raised Amish barn are clean and classic; when I photographed it at the end of a cold winter day, the sun was just kissing the surface with warm rays against the cold sky. The photograph owes a debt of gratitude to my favorite artist, Edward Hopper, who loved painting the look of light reflecting off walls.
