Mennonite Women at Flight 93 National Memorial

I was at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, PA, on my way back home from an east coast trip. I photographed extensively here that day, touched by all the people who came and reverently viewed the tragic spot. These Mennonite ladies, standing in front of little angels and American flags, each representing a person who died on the flight, epitomized the experience for me. The photograph is especially powerful in black-and-white, so that's how I chose to print it.
