I recently did a four-day Zodiac boat tour of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve on Haida Gwaii off British Columbia. Each day was extraordinary, with visits to old village sites of the Haida People, where totem poles and abandoned longhouse sites are haunting remnants of a vibrant past. There were Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, sea stars, vast forests, and the chance to meet and speak with Haida people, called Watchmen, who watch over the sites where their ancestors lived. It was an insightful look into another world. These were some of my favorite pictures, and you can see more in my archive gallery here; go to Canada, British Columbia.
